MV Le Mahe Scuba Liveaboard

General:

The MV Le Mahe is a 22-metre (70ft) twin-engine wooden motorboat; she operates in the Andaman Sea for only 6 - 7 months every year and she was built in 2002. With only a maximum of 12 guests aboard at any time and plenty of space onboard, Le Mahe is setting some very high standards in the low budget live-aboard category.

Having just come out from dry dock after annual maintenance, inspection and a re-paint, she is now ready to enter into her fifth season as a liveaboard vessel.

Destination:

MV Le Mahe offer trips from October to mid-May to the amazing Similan Islands – Koh Bon – Koh Tachai – Richelieu Rock.

She departs from Tapla Mu pier just a little north of Phuket Islands (4 days/ 4 nights). See Schedule.

Full Charter:

She is also available for full charter which is ideal for diving clubs or a small to medium sized group of divers who want to have their own boat for a few days (pay for 11, get 12 spaces). Divers can do 4 - 10 day trips all over the Andaman Sea of Thailand.

Contact us , we can help you tailor-make the perfect trip for your group, but please book in advance to secure availability.

The Cabins:

There are 2 cabins on each of the 3 decks. The 2 Cabins on the upper deck have double beds and the 2 Cabins on the main deck can be transformed to either double beds or twin beds with and the 2 Cabins on the lower deck having twin accommodation, the cabins are not huge, but offer plenty room for two people per cabin.

All six Guest Cabins onboard have en-suite bathrooms with hot water showers and individual controlled air-condition system, refrigerator with mini-bar & TV as well as individual controlled DVD players.

2 Double Bed Cabins (Queen size bed) located on the Upper deck

2 Double or Twin Bed Cabins (Queen size bed or twin beds) located on the Main deck

2 Single Bed Cabins (2 bunk beds/twin sharing) located on the lower deck; these cabins have no windows/portholes,

All cabins also have:

•  Wardrobes to store you clothes during the trip.
•  70 X 200 cm or 140 X 200 cm Beds incl. bedding.
•  Towels are provided onboard.
•  Twin prong socket 220 volts mains outlet - 24 hours per day.
•  Life Jackets

The Interior:

The lounge area onboard MV Le Mahe is small but comfortable, with TV, DVD, music entertainment centre and a full selection of marine life books & diving magazines. There is also a Laptop computer for image editing and games. There is also an outside deck area shaded with outside seating (dining area) and a small sun deck.

The dive deck:

MV Le Mahe has 2 electric Mariner compressors, so tanks are re-filled rapidly and quietly, the tanks are filled in the racks without removing your gear, so there is no moving around. Once the equipment has been put together on the first day, one can relax for the entire trip as the tanks will be refilled again and again by the friendly staff onboard. There are also Suunto Dive Computers for rent on the boat which is optional, but strongly recommended for additional safety.

The dive deck is rather small, so suiting up is completed in smaller groups rather than all together. There are 2 exit ladders and 1 fresh water shower so one can rinse-off or rinse the equipment after the dives. There is also a large bucket with fresh water to rinse cameras/dive computers.

For more information about MV Le Mahe, see the technical details below .

The dive crew

The highly experienced staff onboard are professional Multilingual PADI Divemasters & Instructors and have worked several seasons here around the area of the Similan Islands & Richelieu Rock. It is recommended to dive with one of the onboard dive staff since they know all the points of interest and how to navigate the dive sites to ensure the best dive profile. There is always a dive guide ready for you, but if you are an experienced diver and just want to have a dive site briefing, then you and your buddy can go on your own, but you will of course have to follow some simple diving rules and instructions given by the diving staff to ensure your safety.

The boat crew

The boat crew onboard is very experienced and helpful, a few of them even speak a little English and certainly enough to understand when things are serious or when it's time for jokes. The staff onboard will help you when ever you need it, you don't have to ask for help, they know exactly when it's needed.
